Tomorrow is the first day of the Users' Conference. Jeremy abandoned me today so he could go flying a glider, so I decided to head over to Universal Studios. (I got the better end of that deal, though, since he didn't get any flying in because of weather issues). I ended up realizing I'm not nearly the amusement park aficionado I used to be. Maybe it was that every ride dropped you into the middle of a store before you actually "exited" (in at least one case, where that store had nothing to do with the ride).
Ray (who really should blog more often so his blog doesn't seem empty) and Jess are here as well, so the four of us went to dinner. Ray paid a small fortune for a bowl of Campbell's soup, and I ended up with a plate that had nothing but a piece of filet mignon on it (but damn was it good!)
Jeremy and I came back right after because we had some evening plans (which it turns out fell through), but Ray and Jess went out in search of Ray's beloved ice cream. Of course, once Jeremy and I ended up sitting around in our room with no plans, I got to thinking about how much I wanted ice cream too. After a fruitless trip to the gift-shop, hoping they had overpriced ice-cream snack-bars or something, I ended up paying for room service ice cream that cost me enough to buy about three pints in the real world.
I took a couple pictures, but don't have enough yet to make it worth hooking the camera to the laptop yet. More tomorrow....
Derek-
You are away from home... Go to Hooters and have a beer or twelve.
