Quantcast Movie Prints - Derek's Rantings and Musings

Movie Prints

Where would a person shop for movie prints? Not as in "8x10 glossies" but as in "eight reels of 35mm technicolor glory".

I would have thought that'd be an eBay thing, but can't find anything similar on there. And I have to believe that there's a market for such things...

Call the distributor? They'll keep the prints around. I suspect though that they'll only let you rent them and not buy them...

- ask

Yeah, but there's also an aftermarket for "owned" prints, prints that have made their way into the public by various means (usually actors who get prints as part of their contract and then sell them off for charity, etc.)

Got a particular movie in mind?

This may explain why you can't find them on ebay:

Yeah... and the sad part of that policy is that it makes no allowance for the fact that it is perfectly legitimate for the legal owner of a print who ISN'T the copyright-holder to sell the property they legally own.

I hate arbitrary crap like that.
