Profanity Filters Without Context Sensitivity

I had read an article that talked about how the iTunes Music Store was going to have the pilot episode of NBC's new show, "Conviction", as a free download.

Imagine my surprise as I saw that the description:

The newest legal drama from D**k Wolf

I understand iTMS tries to be "family friendly" at the 10,000 ft. level, but it still shouldn't be bleeping a guys' first name, especially since it's not like "Dick" is an uncommon first name.

Heh. You would think that since those aren't editable by the "community", only by an Apple staffer, that they would be exempt from the filters anyway.

Then again, I wonder if they are using the same code for the TV shows as they are Podcasts. In that case, it would make sense why it's getting filtered... Hmmmm.

I noticed the same thing, but in a song name. It was a classical piece, containing the latin word "cum" and showed as "c*m" instead. Lame.

Actually, his name really is D**k. ;) The folks who've been calling him "Dick" have been getting it wrong for years.
